SA-SHAI CATTERY is a small (in numbers of resident cats) and large (in space for the resident cats).    It is a highly regarded cattery dedicated to producing beautiful and healthy Siamese cats that are veterinarian approved and a joy to own.     

Every addition to the cattery tests negative for the Feline Leukemia Virus (FELV) and the Feline Immune Deficiency Virus (FIV).

Our breeding cats are tested for PRA (Progressive Retina Atrophy) so that we know our kittens will not be Affected with this disease that can cause blindness.

Hopefully a tour of the spacious facility and this site will provide the viewer with an appreciation of our devotion to the Siamese and an understanding of the environment that is the birthright of our  Sa-Shai Siamese.     We raise Siamese kittens as a hobby and not for profit.     

Our joy remains in the knowledge that our exquisite Siamese provide joy and affection to our customers who all truly appreciate them, and this makes our dedication worthwhile.

We provide excellent and comprehensive support, in writing and verbally, both before and after placement of our kittens and cats.

SA-SHAI CATTERY is veterinarian approved and registered with the following cat associations: 

                   CCA (1966), CFA (1967), ACA (1967) and CFF (1982) 

                                 

SA-SHAI CATTERY has registered its kittens with CFA and has been continuously showing in CFA since 1967, which is the largest and now the only cat association worldwide protecting the identity/trade-mark of the Siamese Cat as a pure and natural breed in the four accepted colours of Seal, Blue, Chocolate and Lilac Points.     In the earlier years, we also showed  successfully in ACA, CFF and to National Wins in CCA.    In the latter years, we have successfully shown and Titled several cats internationally in both CFA and CCA.   Our cats are registered with both the Canadian Cat Association and The Cat Fanciers’ Association, Inc.  We have had many Canadian National Winners, see Top Cats pages on various years.   For CFA National Best of Breed 2017 - 2018 see Page 3.

We are members in good standing of the:    National Siamese Cat Club,     

CFA Siamese Breed Council,  Ottawa Valley Cat Club and the Canadian Cat Association.

The Siamese cat has always been known for its medium size, long svelte body, long legs, long tail, wedge-shaped head including the large ears as well as deep blue slanted eyes, and a short thin coat, which is what Sa-Shai Cattery strives to perfect in accordance with the Siamese Standard in order to produce a well balanced cat.     We are very thankful to those breeders who have entrusted us with their cats and studs over the years so that we could pursue our dream of the perfect Siamese cat.

  

If someone prefers a shorter body, thicker coat and rounder head, we suggest they look for a Tonkinese which is a cross between a Burmese and a Siamese originating in Canada.     However, the intelligence and personality of the “pure” Siamese cannot be matched!
